Information we collect

While you are using our sites we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you, or to obtain payment. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name ("Personal Information").

Client studios use our application to collect additional personal information about their students, staff, and members, including contact information, demographic information, enrollments, invoices, and payment details. Payment details may include credit card numbers and bank account numbers. The age of minor students is also collected for compliance reasons. All information is stored on standards-compliant secure servers. Log data

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this information to help us understand and connect to our audience, and for security and application performance monitoring purposes.

Cookies and related technology

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive. Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information.

Clerestory Systems' websites, emails, online applications, and advertisements may use cookies and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help us to better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of our websites users have visited, and measure the effectiveness of our advertisements. We treat information collected through cookies and related technologies as non-personal information. However, to the extent that Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we also treat these identifiers as personal information. Clerestory Systems uses cookies and related technology to remember some personal information when you visit our online application. This information is necessary to personalize your experience on the application, and to keep your information private.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site (in particular, the MuseMinder Online application cannot function if cookies are disabled).

Client studios may also use the Personal Information of their registered members to contact those members with newsletters, application notifications, event-related notifications, invoices, and other business communications.

Client studio owners, managers, and staff may directly view and update any personal information about themselves.

Client studios have the option of enabling member login so that students, staff, and other studio members may view and update their own personal information.

Information we share

We do not share personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Clerestory Systems unless one of the following circumstances applies:

  • With your consent

    In accepting the login terms of service you consent to allowing us to share your personal information with the MuseMinder client studio of which you are a member.

  • With domain administrators

    Our sites are hosted in the cloud by third-party hosting providers who may have limited access to access statistics, and contact information stored in their service.

  • For external processing

    We provide personal information to our affiliates or other trusted businesses or persons to process it for us, based on our instructions and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

  • For legal reasons

    We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Clerestory Systems if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

    • meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
    • enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations.
    • detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
    • protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Clerestory Systems, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

We may share non-personally identifiable information publicly and with our partners – like publishers, advertisers or connected sites. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services.

Information security

We work hard to protect Clerestory Systems and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. In particular:

  • We encrypt many of our services with Transport Layer Security (TLS)
  • We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
  • We restrict access to personal information to Clerestory Systems employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.
  • We encrypt, and otherwise restrict access to, sensitive personal information stored on our servers.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data retention

MuseMinder may retain records for subscriber studios whose subscriptions have lapsed for a period of up to 180 days.

Subscriber studios may retain personal information of their members indefinitely after those members have suspended use of the studio services (i.e., after unenrollment) as educational and accounting records.

Children and education

We understand the importance of taking extra precautions to protect the privacy and safety of children using Clerestory products and services. Electronic communications to children under the age of 13, or equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, are not permitted without parental consent. A parent providing their minor student's email address at time of registration is considered to be consent to use it for the purpose of communications as described in this privacy policy. The personal information of children under the age of 13, or equivalent minimum age in the relevant juristiction, are connected to the account of a responsible parent or guardian who may access and update the personal information of associated children.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of Feb 3, 2018 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page. We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
